Overview:

Writing can feel lonely but know you are not alone. We care about you and your book, and we want you to finish it! Our new group programme has been designed specifically for writers who have started and stopped, but still can't shake the desire to finish their book. It's time to bring your story to life, and we're here to make that happen. It’s time to make a plan, take time to write and finish your story.

In this group programme:

  • We’ll transport you to our writers’ room, as we write together with focused and guided creative time.

  • We’ll arm you with tools to help you start editing your novel, or non-fiction book.

  • We teach you how to provide useful feedback on written work, and we’ll help you to understand what you can learn as you provide feedback on the work of others.

  • We’ll help you solve some of your biggest writing problems.

  • Each week you’ll be asked to read and provide feedback on writing from another course attendee, helping you to learn how to edit and improve your own writing, as well as providing useful feedback to a peer.

By the end of the group programme:

  • You’ll have completed at least 8 writing sprints. You’ll be amazed at how much you can write in these sprint sessions.

  • You’ll have gained peer feedback on at least 3,000 words of your written work.

  • You’ll have given feedback on the work of your peers. This will allow you to learn how to edit and it will give you a new perspective on your own work.

  • You’ll have the chance to submit a personal question or writing problem and we’ll tackle this as a group to help provide you with a solution.

  • You’ll create an action plan to help you take your writing forward.

  • And you’ll have spent time with a wonderful group of writers.

  • · In our introductory week, you’ll provide a brief overview of your book project.

    · You’ll create clear goals and start to make a plan for finishing your book.

    · We’ll explore why feedback is important and you’ll learn how to give useful feedback that not only helps someone else but also helps you learn how to edit.

    · We’ll also squeeze a quick writing sprint into our session.

    · You’ll be allocated work to read and give feedback on.

  • · It’s a writing week! We’ll spend most of this time writing.

    ·  You’ll have a short feedback session with your writing partner.

  • · During week three, we’ll explore editing. Help you identify where you are in the process.

    · We’ll break down some of the common mistakes and pitfalls made by authors – over-editing and under-editing – and how you can avoid them!

    · You’ll understand the foundations and structure of macro and micro editing and how you can apply this to your work.

    · We’ll also squeeze a quick writing sprint into our session.

  • · It’s a writing week! We’ll spend most of this time writing.
